The Monster Mixer was a long-form tape composition I did years ago, using a 4-track portastudio, a CD player, a VCR, a cassette deck and whatever music, sound effects, movie dialogue, spoken work recordings, etc. I had at hand or available through friends.
The result was a not-quite coherent impression of my political and emotional place at the time.
Several years later, I tried my hand at “digitally restoring” the original stereo mix for burning to a CD, using Steinberg’s Wavelab and some FX plugins I received through, um, dubious sources…
