Music is a BIG DEAL to me.
I've been into music since I was about 11 or 12 years old and I realized that music was both a uniting and a dividing force, culturally: The kind of music you listened to could easily mark you as "in" or "out" of the crowd.
About the same time, a DJ's conversational-time-filling-trivia-tidbit of a description of how the reverse-echoing vocals on Led Zeppein's Whole Lotta Love were created ignited my interest in audio and musical technology. No surprise I spent many years working in record shops, I guess, amassing a large music collection, and appreciating good cover art.
